Jon and I haven’t had much time together lately, so on Sunday we made a point to have just that. It was perfect!
First, Jon had a 12 mile race at 6:00 a.m. We woke early and headed to the store for some beach drinks and snacks before the race. The two teens rose early to take care of Evangeline when she woke.
I was able to run the first 3 miles with Jon, and then he took off for the additional 9 miles solo. I’m not sure how he does it, but I was more than happy to meet him at the finish line after mile 3. It was getting hot!
After the race, we headed to this wonderful little beach spot, changed into suits, and enjoyed the setting. It was like our own private “Carona” commercial. You can see from the photo that someone had a small campfire the night before, so that must have been a beautiful setting.
After a nice long rest, we showered, changed into street clothes and headed to brunch. By the time we got home, it was time for Evangeline to have her lunch, and for us to be parents again. The teens did a wonderful job watching the baby so mom and dad could get out for a bit .
Oh how I love living here!
Have a wonderful Labor Day. 😉
