LAX Weekend Recap

This week has been a log one. Since we home school the girls, there have been long days of testing and prep classes for the upcoming HSA. On top of that, there is still the additional curriculum, guitar practice, LAX practice and work-out sessions for all three of the older kiddos. Whew!

So this is the first chance I have had all week to sit at the computer and give a recap of last weekend.

Saturday was our turn to host the team from the Big Island. This means Jon and I were in charge of organizing the pot-luck after the game. We made the burgers and everyone else brought a side. It worked out wonderfully, and the boys, (and girls) from the Big Island are great kids.

But before we got to the game, we had to make Evangeline happy. It was hot, and she was less than thrilled with her shoes.

Once her shoes were off, there was the matter with the umbrella and chair. Not only was Lenore sitting in E’s chair, but she was holding E’s umbrella too. Not cool! Lenore was there first, so we let her sit until she got bored (it took like 7 minutes), and then she was off to play with some kids she met.

It was a good game. Our team won, and the kids really got along well. After a long hot 4 quarters, the kids got together for some group shots, and then headed to the shade of the trees for the food.

There was plenty food for the hungry teens, siblings, and adults. One of the amazing things about pot-lucks in Hawaii is how everyone always comes together to make it amazing. The kids sat together on the ground, and had a nice time. Alex had fun and the girls, especially Evangeline, found time to eat every dessert on the table. The brownies were the biggest hit.

It was a beautiful Saturday. The only thing missing was Raven. We had so much stuff to haul in the truck, there was literally no room for her to sit with a seat-belt. She didn’t mind, as she had free run of the house for the morning, however Raven was with us for the Sunday game. It was another hot beautiful afternoon, but no potluck followed. I think everyone was just tired. šŸ™‚

Happy Friday Everyone!
