Sunday Hike And Tacos

Early Sunday morning, we packed up the girls for a family hike. Normally our son would also be with us, but he stayed at a friend’s house last night and was on the opposite side of the island. Although I think he would have enjoyed the time with the family, I KNOW he had a blast with his friends.

Anyway, we set out early in the morning. It was a little overcast to begin, but the sun started to come out from behind the clouds as we made our way through the path.

As usual Lenore ran ahead, Evangeline plodded along with me or my husband on her chubby toddler legs (although she was carried by her Dad often), and Raven lagged behind. It was a typical family hike.

It really was a beautiful trail. We saw lots of fishermen with numerous poles in the ground, fun little cacti and flowers, and plenty of blow-holes in the rocks.

On the way back to the car, we stopped on the beach to explore the tide pools. The girls loved hopping from pool to pool to see the different crabs and fish.

Snails everywhere!

As lunch approached, we packed up the girls and headed out to find some lunch. Everyone was pretty hungry, especially Evangeline. We stopped at their favorite place (Taco Bell) for some unhealthy fast-food. For some reason, that stuff tastes really good after a long hike.

It was a nice Sunday, and I’m sure we’ll be doing more of this now that Evangeline can more or less hold her own.
