Halloween 2014 (The Year Of The Bee)

We had a very peaceful Halloween this year. This is the first time in 15 years that we, (husband and I) have not sewn, or built a costume for a kid. The weather was perfect, and we had a nice lazy day homeschooling, carving pumpkins, and getting ready to attend a Halloween Swimming Party. The swimming never happened, as the kids were too wrapped up in the Halloween festivities. But that’s o.k.

Evangeline wore a costume that is a hand-me-down from our son, Alex. She was a little Bumble Bee.

Alex was a LAX player, and he ditched us for a high school party. Raven was a Creeper from the game “Minecraft”. Lenore was super easy. She used her costume from last year, and went as a bride with a magic flesh-eating bacteria rash. It was ugly.

The girls carved their own pumpkins before we left for the party. In the past, Raven wanted nothing to do with the pumpkin guts. This year she dove right in.

Raven finally carved her own pumpkin this year. In the past, she hated the smell of pumpkin guts. Go Rae!

It really was a lovely time. We met some friends and walked the neighborhood, and had a little gathering. I took tons of pictures of the baby, because she was the only one who stuck around long enough for the camera. The rest of the kiddos were too busy. 😉

Here’s some parting shots of the world’s cutest Bee.
